As we steadily approach the holiday season, the Don’t Panic Mgmt team would like to take this time to express our gratitude for all the ways we’ve been blessed over the past year. We’re thankful for:
Our Friends and Families
“I’m SUPER thankful for my husband this year. He has been amazingly supportive with my career shifts (like joining DPM and encouraging me to keep looking for what fits, not settling) and shouldering all the hard physical work of our move while doing (literally) 100% of the housework for 2 months while I was laid up with a herniated disc and ultimately back surgery. He even brought me breakfast/lunch/dinner in bed while I was recovering! He’s a peach and I wouldn’t trade him for anything in the world.”
– Julia Martin
Cat Herder
“I’m grateful for my supportive, wise boyfriend and siblings who always have faith in me. I’m grateful to have known my friend, BJ, who passed away in June.”
– Eli Pauley
Whimsical Pragmatist
“2015 has been a whirlwind year that’s thrown into sharp focus the things I’m truly thankful for: the love of my family, the trust of my partner, the support of my friends, the security of work, the grace of health, and the ability and drive to pursue my artistic career in a city that could easily swallow me up. I want to prioritize being actively grateful for these things every day as we move into the new year!”
– Dillon Heape

“I am SO THANKFUL for the relationships that I’ve made on our DPM team. Even though we’ve never met IRL, the friends I’ve made on our team are real and supportive and I love coming to work every day!”

Our Jobs
“This year, I’m thankful that my husband’s going to be gone for the holidays. Wait—let me explain! He’ll be training at the Basic Correctional Officer Academy to start his new career. Essentially, this new path will mean that he gets to do something he passionate about. I’m also thankful for my career. My job fulfills my creative passions and my bank account at the same time. All while raising my son from the comfort and stability of our home.”
– Jenn Hines
Detail Wrangler & Design Hacker
“I’m thankful I got hired by Don’t Panic Mgmt! And I’m thankful for my #Actorlife: I got to do two shows at Shakespeare and Co. and spend the summer in beautiful Lenox, MA; and one show is doing a reading at Manhattan Theatre Club. So, I guess, my artistic career is chugging along!”
– Bridget Saracino
Podcasting Maven
“I am thankful for coworkers who helped me transition to the virtual life. I truly feel like I am part of a team even though I have only met a couple of our team members in person. With this being said, I am very thankful for the opportunity to work from home. This has been life changing for our family. I get to be with my kids every morning. I have the flexibility to be present with my family. I went from commuting over 3 hours a day to no commuting at all! This gave me back 15 hours of my week! SUCH A BLESSING!”
– Kimberly Voorhis
Empress of Efficiency
“It struck me the other day as I raced to pick up a sick Cooper from school how very grateful I am for my job. We have a policy at DPM that as long as the work gets done, there are no mandatory hours. So when the school called, I got in the car, sent a quick email to the team to let them know what was up, and finished my work later in the evening after my son had gone to bed. There is no PTO. There are no forms to fill out or pleading for time off or dramatic exits. I just took care of my family, and took care of my work, and was trusted to find an appropriate balance between those. Frankly that is incredibly rare in the workplace, and it means the world to me and my family.”

And You!
“I’m so grateful for clients who brighten our days! You hear so many horror stories about virtual assistant relationships, and that simply doesn’t affect the day-to-day lives of DPM team members. Our clients make us laugh, send us hilarious notes to keep our spirits up, and help us succeed (so we can help them succeed in turn). It ROCKS!”
– Becca Vaclavik
Client Happiness Manager
“I’m thankful for clients who “get it.” Clients who are respectful of our time and who value our expertise and talent rather than take us for granted make this the best job in the world.”
– Rebekah Hardeson
Operational Operative
“I never thought that I’d be in a position where I can make my own schedule, work from anywhere in the world, and choose my colleagues, especially more than five years after I started freelancing on my own. Seeing the growth in our team, the success we’ve had with clients, and the sheer enjoyment that we get out of it all is a true blessing. I’m grateful for my brilliant team members who help me learn and grow every day, my clients who inspire me to be a better leader, and this life. Life is all about relationships, and I cherish the opportunity to know these people!”
