May Playlist — We’re Going on a Retreat!

may playlist retreat (1)

It’s a big week for the Don’t Panic Mgmt team.

After all of the major changes that have occurred over the past few months (and years, really), we are finally taking a major step toward our growth path—WE’RE GOING ON AN EMPLOYEE RETREAT!!

While it’s true that we’ve done planning meetings before, they were only with our NYC contingent, and not always in-person. Since we are now a team of 5 full-time employees in all different areas of business (operations, finance, client/project management, HR, marketing), it’s high time to do some hardcore in-person planning.

Plus, since we’re a fully distributed team, some of us have never met in person… which seems crazy to imagine! Jenn and Becca have never met and, as crazy as it sounds, none of us have met Shannon IRL.

Needless to say, this retreat promises to be a pretty epic work/love fest in Park City, Utah.

So, what will we be doing for almost four days together? Other than getting to know each other better (we’ll definitely be playing games… Cards Against Humanity anyone?), we will be doing a ton of strategic planning, soul searching, and team alignment practices that will help us unify for what’s to come in the next few months.

I am so excited to have the chance to be together, IRL, with this awesome team of rockstars for a long weekend. It’s something I genuinely never imagined I’d ever be able to do when I started the business almost 5 years ago. And while I’m confident we’ll come out on the other end ready to conquer the world (or at least our corner of the world), I have a nervous excitement that this is going to uncover some big ideas that will cause a lot of changes in the near future.

In anticipation of all the hard work we’ll be getting into at retreat, we’ve put together a playlist of all the tunes that we use to get pumped up. This playlist really gives you a peek into our personalities (for example, it’s no surprise that we love Beyonce).

You can expect a recap next week, and in the meantime I’d love for you to follow along with us online during our retreat. I’ll be updating my Snapchat account (username: jessostroff) and we’ll be posting on our DPM Instagram. Catch you next week with some more ideas that will hopefully inspire you to get together and make big things happen in your own work and personal life.
